I Must Be Crazy
April 17, 2008
First of all, I’d like to thank my new host, Lene. Secondly, I’d like to apologize for the week and a half of downtime.
During the downtime there were a lot of things I wanted to blog about. Never in my life have I wanted to blog more than this last week. I won’t bother you with all of the topics I wanted to cover, but I will tell you about my classes for next year.
Finally, in the fourth quarter I was called down to the guidance office to pick my classes. I have to say that I’m feeling very ambitious for next year. Here’s my lineup:
- AP1 English 4
- AP Psychology
- AP US History
- Honors Calculus
- Honors Physics
- Graphic Design 2
- Phys. Ed./Health
- Lunch
Three AP classes. Psychology won’t be hard, really. I know that the workload isn’t bad and the teacher is pretty lax (I have him this year, so I would know). The other two AP Classes, however, are notorious for their amounts of work. In AP English 4, I’ll be reading book after book after book. And writing paper after paper after paper. That’s all the class is. Here’s how your final grade is broken up in the class: 90% writing assignments, 10% participation. Yeah.
The only other class I’m worried about besides those two is Physics. I’ve heard some not-so-great things about it. But I like Physics, and so I’m gonna take it.
Wish me luck, guys! I’ll need it. Especially for all of the summer work I’ll be doing for my AP classes.
1 In case anyone didn’t know, AP stands for Advanced Placement.

90% of your grade based on writing assignments? That’s a… very daunting percentage. Ambitious, are we?
As I’m going to be a sophmore next year, the only AP class I can possibly take is World History. That alone leaves me as an academic shipwreck, as we’re covering all of world history from 400 B.C. to present time. Oh, the joy.
Although, I do plan on taking Psychology AP, too
Though, I wish you luck in your AP work!
